From April 1 to 3, 2026, St. Petersburg will become the world capital of logistics: the city will host the first International Transport and Logistics Forum (ITLF). The event, which will bring together representatives from over 60 countries, will serve as a key platform for discussing the future of Eurasian transport arteries, including the North-South Corridor, which is strategically important for Turkmenistan.

The scale of the upcoming forum confirms the global community's strong demand for the creation of new, safe, and predictable routes.

To date, more than 25 transport ministers from Asia, Africa, and the Arab world have confirmed their participation, as well as delegations from key regional partners and representatives of major international organizations: IMO, SCO, CIS, OSJD, and UNESCAP.

One of the central topics of the MTLF will be the reformatting of global logistics in the face of geopolitical challenges. Discussions in the following areas will be of particular importance for Central Asian countries:

Development of the North-South International Transport Corridor: Formulation of unified tariffs and cross-cutting legal norms for seamless freight transportation.

Unmanned technologies: Application of innovations in freight transportation and digitalization of customs procedures.

Unified regulatory framework: Creation of a transparent regulatory system that will eliminate border delays.

Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov emphasized that the forum will help create an architecture of indivisible security in Greater Eurasia by uniting efforts within BRICS, the EAEU, and the SCO.

The participation of representatives from over 40 foreign and 250 Russian companies in the forum opens direct opportunities for contracting. Given Turkmenistan's role as a transit hub, decisions made in St. Petersburg will have a direct impact on the utilization of Turkmenbashi port facilities and the development of railway lines linking the north and south of the continent.
