A creative meeting was held at the Faculty of European Languages and Literature of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi. The event was dedicated to the Spanish language and culture, as well as their influence on modern international relations. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

Alexey Sanchez, an employee of the U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan, attended the university as an honored guest. Representatives of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also took part in the discussion. The main topic of the meeting was the importance of languages for the professional development of future linguists and diplomats.

Alexey Sanchez delivered a presentation on the influence of Spanish heritage on the culture of the United States. He spoke in detail about “Hispanic Heritage Month,” which is celebrated annually in the United States, and about the role of the Spanish language in literature and art. Special attention was paid to the history and cultural diversity of the countries of South America.

Students showed great interest in the features of the Castilian language and regional dialects of Spanish. The participants noted that studying such languages opens new opportunities in diplomatic and economic spheres, strengthening humanitarian dialogue between nations. Such events allow the youth of Turkmenistan to learn from international experts and prepare for work at the global level.
