The first ten days of March across most of Turkmenistan, including Ashgabat, were characterized by below-average temperatures. The average air temperature was 1.4°C lower than the climatic norm. While the normal temperature for the first ten days of the month is 8.9°C, the actual value was 7.5°C. This was reported by Meteozhurnal.

Out of the ten days, only one day was warmer than normal, four days corresponded to the climatic norm, and five days were below normal.

The most significant cooling occurred on March 9–10, when an Arctic air mass moved into the region. During this period, the average daily temperature was 5.2–5.6°C below the norm.

During the first ten days of March, the maximum temperature reached +18.8°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded on March 10 and dropped to –1.6°C.

According to observational data from the past ten years, the dates of the last March frosts were distributed as follows:

2025 — March 4

2024 — March 4

2023 — no frosts recorded in March

2022 — no frosts recorded in March

2021 — March 15

2020 — March 8

2019 — no frosts recorded in March

2018 — March 9

2017 — March 11

2016 — no frosts recorded in March.

Thus, in about 40% of cases, frosts were not recorded in March at all, while in two cases they occurred after March 10.

A relatively large number of days with precipitation was also observed during the first ten days of the month. However, most of the rainfall was light — 0.4–2 mm within 12 hours. Only in two cases did precipitation reach 3 and 4 mm during the same period. In total, 12.4 mm of precipitation was recorded during the decade.

Among weather phenomena, meteorologists also noted the first thunderstorm of the year in Ashgabat on March 3. On the same day, hail was observed, and on March 6 fog with visibility of about 500 meters was recorded.
