A meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium, symbolizing the continuity of the high-level relations between Ashgabat and European institutions.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sapar Palvanov received State Minister of Belgium Charles Michel and his wife, Amélie Derbaudranghien, at the diplomatic mission building. The visit of the politician, whose name is inextricably linked with elevating relations between Central Asia and the European Union to the level of strategic partnership, was both friendly and deeply meaningful.

Charles Michel, who during his Presidency of the European Council (2019–2024), became the architect of the new EU-Central Asia interaction format. It was under his active involvement that Brussels began to view the region not simply as a neighbor, but as a key hub for global transport connectivity.

During the meeting, Sapar Palvanov particularly noted Charles Michel's personal contribution to promoting investment projects within the Global Gateway strategy aimed at developing the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.

The official part of the meeting was preceded by a presentation to the guests of a collection of Turkmen arts and crafts, including examples of famous Turkmen carpets and traditional jewelry.

The parties exchanged views on the regional agenda, emphasizing the growing unity of the Central Asian countries. In this context, Charles Michel reaffirmed Turkmenistan's role as a stable and reliable state, capable of serving as a guarantor of security and energy stability in a complex geopolitical environment.

The need for further expansion of the legal framework was emphasized, which would be a logical continuation of the agreements reached during previous high-level meetings.
