A Meeting of the Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission Begins in Dushanbe

On March 3, a high-ranking delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atakhalliyev, arrived in the capital of Tajikistan. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the 14th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, which will determine the direction of the two countries' economic partnership for the coming year.
At Dushanbe International Airport, the Turkmen delegation was met by Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziyozoda. The fact that the delegation is led by the Deputy Prime Minister, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, sets the tone for the upcoming talks: experts expect a focus on agriculture, water resources, and logistics.

What's on the Agenda for March 3-4?
Over the course of two days, the parties will work in detail on the following issues:
Trade: Increasing trade turnover and diversifying supply structures.
Transport: Utilizing the transit potential of both countries to access new markets.
Science and Technology: Implementing joint projects discussed at the highest level last year.
The commission's work is the foundation upon which direct ties between business and government agencies are built. The meeting will be a logical continuation of the agreements reached by Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon.
