Turkmenistan Opens Transit Corridor for Foreign Citizens Exiting Iran

Due to temporary air travel restrictions in the region, Turkmenistan is utilizing its transit capacity to facilitate foreign citizens. The Russian Embassy in Ashgabat has published a proven border crossing procedure for those planning to return from Iran by land.
The Serakhs border crossing on the Iranian-Turkmen border has been designated a key transit hub. This route has become an alternative for citizens unable to take direct flights from Tehran and other Iranian cities due to the closure of air corridors.
A clear coordination scheme has been developed to ensure unimpeded road travel through Turkmenistan. Russian citizens must submit a package of documents to the diplomatic mission in Iran in advance to coordinate transit with the Turkmen side, TASS reported.
Turkmenistan, which shares a land border with Iran stretching over 1,100 km, is once again demonstrating its willingness to act as a secure and predictable partner, ensuring logistical connectivity in the region even in the face of force majeure.
Earlier, Turkmenistan Airlines suspended flights to Dubai and Jeddah until March 4.
