The conference aimed to exchange experience and enhance the knowledge of professionals, faculty, and students on the construction of energy-efficient buildings, the use of renewable energy sources, and modern approaches to reducing energy consumption. Participants discussed the achievements of European countries in this field, explored opportunities to adapt best practices in Turkmenistan, and received information on building the capacity of civil engineers in energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The conference also considered prospects for cooperation between TSEI and the UNDP/GEF project to advance energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy in Turkmenistan’s construction sector.

The UNDP project, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), promotes the introduction of innovative construction technologies, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, increased energy efficiency, and the development of renewable energy. The project strengthens Turkmenistan’s capacity to create sustainable residential and public buildings and supports the country’s fulfillment of its international commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement.
