National Film Week is Being Held in Turkmenistan
The event is organized in Ashgabat by the "Turkmenfilm" Association named after Oguz Han. On the starting day of the Week, the celebratory events were concentrated at three main cinema venues of the Turkmen capital. At the "Ashgabat" cinema, the feature film "The Red Apple" by director Hekim Alovov was presented to the public. The film reveals the story of a sincere feeling that arose between Mergen and Alma.
In parallel, at the "Watan" cinema and concert center, a screening of the short feature film "The Young Ones" took place. The film's director, Iskendermuhammet Annamuhammedov, focused on current issues of raising the younger generation. At the center of the plot are the first feelings of young people, accompanied by a series of unexpected and curious life circumstances. An important place in the film is given to the popularization of national wedding traditions and rituals that are passed down from generation to generation. Through the images created by the actors, the idea of the need to follow a healthy lifestyle and respect for family values is conveyed.
The third significant venue of the first day was the "Turkmenistan" cinema and concert center, where a screening of the film "A Fate Written on Paper" was organized. This work by director Sapardurdy Annayev has already received international recognition, taking first place at the international film festival "The Dawn of Arkadag," which was held in October 2023 in the city of Arkadag. The film raises serious questions of human existence while preserving national identity.
Throughout the festive week, screenings of other significant films will be organized in cinemas of the capital and all provinces of the country, including "The Groom," "The Foundation," and "Kopetdag – The Dream of a Young Soldier," reports Big Asia.
