Bucharest, February 5 | ORIENT. The diplomatic dialogue between Turkmenistan and Romania covers many areas, from education to logistics, and is now moving into the practical realm of trade standards. On February 4, the Turkmen Ambassador to Bucharest, Annamammet Annayev, held talks with Sorin Mierlea, the head of InfoCons, Romania's largest consumer protection organization. Behind the formal discussion of citizens' rights lies a strategic goal: adapting Turkmen exports to strict EU regulations. The main focus of the meeting was the labeling of imported goods and the protection of intellectual property rights.

Why this is important: Any goods crossing the EU border must have a transparent origin and proper eco-labeling. Consultations with InfoCons will help Turkmen producers avoid barriers when entering the Romanian market and further into Europe.

InfoCons, known for its mobile apps for product quality control, proposed to the embassy to create a unified information environment for citizens of both countries. For Turkmen citizens in Romania, this means access to legal protection for their consumer rights. For Romanian businessmen and tourists, it means a clear understanding of the rules in Turkmenistan.

This meeting should be viewed as part of the "big game" on the Caspian Sea-Black Sea transport corridor. While politicians discuss tanker and container ship routes, diplomats and quality experts are developing a "standard corridor." Successful certification and proper labeling will make Turkmen goods competitive anywhere in the European Union.
