OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Health, a new specialized section within the popular chatbot. The service is designed specifically for discussions on medical topics and for analyzing data related to a user’s well-being.

The key feature of the new section is full data protection. Health-related information is stored separately from other chats, and personal health metrics are not used to train future AI models. For more accurate recommendations, users can connect third-party applications such as Apple Health. This allows the neural network to take real activity levels and physiological indicators into account.

The project was developed over two years with the involvement of more than 260 doctors from around the world. To ensure safety and accuracy, the responses were evaluated using a dedicated clinical system called HealthBench. Despite the extensive preparation, the developers emphasize that ChatGPT Health is an assistant, not a replacement for a doctor. In case of any health issues, users should always consult qualified medical professionals.

Currently, the service is available to users on a waitlist. The “Health” section can be found in the ChatGPT side menu. In the near future, OpenAI plans to open access to everyone, making personalized medical assistance more accessible to millions of people worldwide.
