Rising Purchases and Spending: Results of Retail Trade in Belarus in 2025
According to the results of 2025, retail turnover in Belarus increased by 6.6%, reaching an impressive 102.9 billion rubles. Data from the National Statistical Committee indicate that consumer activity in the country continues to grow, which is reflected in household spending and the operation of retail outlets, BELTA reports.
One of the most illustrative indicators is daily spending. On average, each resident of the country spent 30.9 rubles per day in stores in 2025. For comparison, this figure stood at 27.5 rubles a year earlier. Such growth suggests that people have begun to make purchases more frequently and use retail services more actively.
The main contribution to the economy came from large retail organizations, which account for more than 95% of total sales. Their turnover increased by 7.2% over the year. The public catering sector also demonstrated positive dynamics: revenues of restaurants and cafes rose by 5.1%, amounting to 7.4 billion rubles.
The only sector that recorded a slight decline was wholesale trade, with its indicators standing at 95.1% of the previous year’s level. Nevertheless, the overall growth in retail sales confirms the strong purchasing power of the population and the stable performance of the domestic market.
