BUSINESS | ORIENT. The world's largest home textiles exhibition, «Heimtextil 2026», which concluded in Frankfurt am Main, became more than just an image-building platform for the Turkmen delegation; it also served as a venue for signing real trade agreements. According to the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Frankfurt, a number of export contracts were signed following the forum.

The delegation was led by Turkmenistan's Minister of Textile Industry, Nurmuhammet Orazgeldiyev. His personal involvement in the negotiations enabled the prompt discussion of supply terms with major retailers and distributors from Europe and Asia.

Specific agreements were reached on the sale of finished natural cotton products to foreign markets. Foreign buyers were particularly interested in solutions for the contract sector (hotels, offices) and retail chains, where the environmental friendliness of Turkmen cotton is a decisive competitive advantage.

This year, Heimtextil confirmed the global trend toward natural products and supply chain transparency. Turkmenistan, with its complete production cycle—from the field to the finished bed linen or towel—fits this requirement perfectly.

The ministry's activity in Frankfurt demonstrates a shift in strategy: the country is moving from a simple presence at exhibitions to active marketing of established brands. Integration into such platforms is the fastest way to attract investment in the technological modernization of the light industry and increase foreign exchange earnings.

Success in Frankfurt lays the foundation for promoting textile exports. Turkmen products have proven their ability to compete in design and quality in the world's most complex and demanding market—the European one.
