Ashgabat, January 8 | ORIENT. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhalliyev met with Belarusian Ambassador Stanislav Chepurny. According to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed detailed planning for the Turkmen delegation's participation in BelAgro-2026, one of the largest agricultural forums in the CIS, which will be held in Minsk from June 2 to 6 as part of the Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week.

Why are we going to Minsk? The Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week is not just a machinery exhibition, but a platform for the exchange of "critical" technologies. In 2026, Turkmenistan is focusing on three key areas:

Genetics and Livestock Breeding: Belarusian experience in dairy and beef cattle breeding is recognized as one of the best in the world. For our new agricultural complexes, this is an opportunity to negotiate the supply of high-yielding livestock and veterinarian training.

Seed Production and Adaptation: In the face of climate change, Turkmen farmers need varieties that are drought-resistant yet still produce high yields. Joint research with Belarusian breeders will help adapt elite grain and vegetable seeds to our soil and climate conditions.

Smart Farm. The latest equipment for farm automation will be presented at BELAGRO-2026. Given Turkmenistan's commitment to "smart cities" and "smart villages," Belarus's experience in automating milking parlors and crop monitoring systems is highly relevant.

The interest is mutual: Belarusian companies are considering participating in the international exhibition Agro-Pack Turkmenistan-2026, which will be held in Ashgabat from May 12 to 14. Thus, May and June will be a period of intensive exchange of agricultural technologies between our countries.

Agriculture today is not only about plows and tractors; it also includes laboratories and software. Cooperation with Belarus in veterinary medicine and seed production will allow Turkmenistan to strengthen its food security by leveraging Minsk's proven scientific expertise.
