The number of tourists in Uzbekistan exceeded 10 million for the first time in 11 months
Uzbekistan has set a new historical record in the tourism sector. According to the Statistics Agency, 10.7 million foreign citizens visited the country during the first 11 months of 2025, marking the first time tourist arrivals have reached such a high level. Compared to the previous year, the increase amounted to an impressive 47.4%.
As usual, the main flow of tourists comes from neighboring Central Asian countries. Kyrgyzstan led the list with 3 million visitors, followed by Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, each contributing 2.5 million arrivals.
Rounding out the top five were Russia (923.8 thousand) and Afghanistan (429.4 thousand). Turkmenistan also entered the top ten countries showing the greatest interest in the region, with 341.4 thousand visitors, alongside China, Türkiye, India, and South Korea.
Such a sharp increase—an additional 3.5 million visitors in just one year—demonstrates the effectiveness of government reforms. Simplified visa procedures, infrastructure development, and active promotion of the national brand abroad are yielding tangible results.
The tourism industry is becoming a real driver of the country’s economy. Experts predict that by the end of the year, the figure will grow even further, solidifying Uzbekistan’s status as the leading tourist hub in the region.
