The Smart City of Arkadag Celebrates the First Day of the New Year
Arkadag, January 1 | ORIENT. The first day of 2026 in Arkadag began with large-scale celebrations. The city, a symbol of innovation, welcomed the new year under the motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds" in an atmosphere of special enthusiasm.
The celebration opened with a flag-raising ceremony in the central square, after which hundreds of colorful balloons soared into the sky. A festive procession of artists and young people passed along the avenues, New Year's decorations of which highlighted the unique architectural aesthetic of the first national smart city.
An interactive show unfolded near the city's main Christmas tree. Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk, joined by young residents of Arkadag, danced energetically, turning the square into the center of a grand family celebration.
A particularly significant portion of the celebrations took place at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children's Health and Rehabilitation Center. The celebration came to every child undergoing treatment there.
On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the children received New Year's gifts. In addition to traditional holiday sweets, these included interactive educational tools and musical instruments, craft kits, and school supplies.
The musical performances held within the Center instilled in the children a sense of wonder, serving as a vivid demonstration that social care remains a top priority in the new city.
