Ashgabat, January 1 | ORIENT. In the first minutes of 2026, the first cry of a newborn was heard at the capital's Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health. For the Gaipov family, the New Year was a double celebration—their son became the first child born in the country in the Year of the Winged Steeds.

The parents gave their firstborn a deeply symbolic name: Atamurat. In Turkmen tradition, this name carries powerful energy, which takes on special meaning in 2026.

The name is composed of two roots: "At" (steed) and "Myrat" (goal, cherished dream). Literally, it means "a goal achieved with the speed of a steed" or "the pursuit of a dream." In a year marked by the motto "purposeful winged steeds," the name Atamurat resonates as a living embodiment of the national spirit—dynamic, noble, and success-oriented.

In keeping with tradition, the happy Gaipov family received congratulations and gifts from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People. The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care also paid special attention, providing the newborn with everything he needed for his first days of life.

The center's doctors report that the condition of little Atamurat and his mother is stable, and the baby is doing well. The parents themselves are openly expressing their sincere gratitude for the conditions created in the country, where modern perinatal centers and dedicated care for mothers allow them to welcome a new life in an atmosphere of peace and security.
