ASHGABAT, January 30 | ORIENT. The head of state signed a decree defining the production vector for cotton growing in Turkmenistan for 2026. The document lays the foundation for the systemic modernization of the industry, emphasizing the rational use of natural resources and a scientific approach to farming.

Agricultural technologies and regional specifics. The key feature of the adopted plan is a personalized approach to each region. By order of the President, seed distribution will be carried out strictly taking into account the soil and climatic conditions of each individual etrap in all five velayats of the country. This will allow for the most efficient use of the land's potential—from Balkan to Lebap.

Resource cooperation. The decree establishes a clear vertical line of cooperation between relevant agencies, guaranteeing producers full infrastructural support. Under the state procurement program, farmers will be provided with a full range of necessary services:

The Turkmenpagta State Corporation is responsible for the supply of elite seeds;

The Turkmenobahyzmat State Corporation provides technical services, from field preparation to mechanized harvesting;

The State Water Management Committee guarantees a limited supply of irrigation water;

The Turkmenhimiya State Corporation ensures timely soil fertilization with mineral fertilizers.

This package of government support is intended not only to increase raw material production but also to strengthen the export potential of the textile industry—the driving force of Turkmenistan's non-oil sector.

As we enter the new year, the country's agro-industrial complex receives a clear roadmap, with water conservation and high-tech soil management at the forefront.
