Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Ashgabat Awarded Anniversary Awards
Ashgabat, December 25 | ORIENT. An awards ceremony was held during the gala forum dedicated to summing up the International Year of Peace and Trust. On the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the heads of foreign diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations received anniversary medals "30 Years of Turkmenistan's Neutrality" and commemorative silver badges.
The awards ceremony was a logical continuation of the discussion on the role of neutrality. As Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov noted in his address, the anniversary year of 2025 will go down in history as a time when the principles of preventive diplomacy and the "culture of trust" were successfully tested in practice.
The decrees on awards signed by the head of state are more than just a commemorative gesture for the 30th anniversary of neutrality. This is recognition of the personal contribution of each diplomat to ensuring that Turkmenistan's initiatives – from energy security to sustainable transport – receive global support.
Presenting the awards, the Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the diplomatic corps for their active participation in the numerous international forums held during the past year.
Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that Turkmenistan's current successes on the global stage are the result of the systematic implementation of the country's peace strategy. The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the ambassadors for their contribution to strengthening bilateral ties and multilateral partnerships, emphasizing that it is through such personal efforts that the "architecture of global trust" is built.
Concluding the ceremony, Rashid Meredov expressed confidence that the coming year 2026 will be a period of even more dynamic progress. Today's award ceremony marked not a full stop, but an ellipsis on the diplomatic calendar: Ashgabat confirmed its readiness for new heights and its openness to all who share the values of neutrality and mutual respect.
