The President of Turkmenistan Met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan
TOKYO, December 19 | ORIENT. As part of a busy visit to Japan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fukushiro Nukaga. The meeting focused on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy as a key tool for interstate rapprochement.
Fukushiro Nukaga emphasized that Japan views Turkmenistan as a strategically important partner in Central Asia. He also noted the success of the Turkmen pavilion at EXPO 2025, which has become a true magnet for visitors to the World Expo in Osaka.
The two sides praised the work of the interparliamentary groups of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the House of Representatives of Japan. This represents not only an exchange of legislative experience but also a bridge for humanitarian cooperation.
The Speaker of the House of Parliament congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the successful holding of the forum in Ashgabat in honor of the 30th anniversary of neutrality, noting the growing authority of the country's peace initiatives. This is the second meeting between the President and Fukushiro Nukagi this year (the first took place in April), demonstrating the intensity of political contacts.
Turkmen-Japanese parliamentary ties are currently reaching a level where legislators from both countries are actively promoting the implementation of large-scale economic and cultural projects initiated at the highest level.
