The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan officially confirmed on Wednesday the first-ever Central Asia Plus Japan Dialogue (CA+JAD) summit at the heads of state level. The meeting will take place in Tokyo from December 19–20, 2025.

The summit will be chaired by Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae. The presidents of five countries in the region are expected to attend the event: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The meeting's agenda includes supporting the sustainable development of the Central Asian region, strengthening the international order based on universally recognized legal norms, and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

As part of the summit, Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan will hold the "Central Asia Plus Japan" business forum.

Takaichi Sanae will also hold a series of bilateral talks with the heads of state of Central Asia, according to an official press release from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This summit aims to reaffirm Japan's commitment to partnership and elevate cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
