Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are actively discussing deepening bilateral cooperation, focusing on strategic economic sectors: light industry and agriculture.

Danil Ibraev, member of the Presidium of the EAEU Business Council and President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan, expressed particular attention to the potential for partnership while commenting on the prospects for cooperation.

According to him, the possibility of supplying textile raw materials from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan, followed by manufacturing at local enterprises and selling them both domestically and internationally, is being discussed, AKIPRESS.COM reports.

Thus, the cooperation under discussion goes beyond simple trade, aiming to create a regionally integrated value chain. Ibraev recalled that negotiations on cooperation between the two countries' delegations have been ongoing for about a year.

In addition to light industry, the parties are exploring ways to strengthen mutually beneficial agricultural supplies. Turkmenistan currently supplies tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan, and Kyrgyzstan exports potatoes to Turkmenistan.

Discussions on mutual agricultural supplies demonstrate the two countries' intention to leverage their resource advantages to ensure regional food security and strengthen trade and economic relations.
