A Turkmen delegation led by Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, visited the State of Qatar with the aim of significantly expanding bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian and social spheres, with a particular focus on the well-being of children.

The main details of the visit are in our report, based on a report from the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).

Diplomacy on a Global Platform

The visit began with participation in the opening ceremony of the Doha Forum under the motto "Diplomacy, Dialogue, Diversity." This major international platform became the first stage for discussing global issues and developing effective solutions.

As part of the forum, Oguljahan Atabayeva participated in the thematic session "Child Protection in a New Era: Developing Inclusive Humanitarian Measures." In her speech, she emphasized that caring for children is at the core of Turkmenistan's national identity and state policy.

The Vice President of the Foundation noted that Turkmenistan's policy is aimed at creating an inclusive environment and ensuring equal opportunities through access to resources such as education, medical care, and legal protection.

Meetings in Doha

The visit's central focus was a series of high-level meetings that reaffirmed the strategic nature of Turkmen-Qatari relations:

— with Maryam bint Ali Al-Missned, Minister of State for International Cooperation. The Qatari side praised the Foundation's humanitarian initiatives, expressing confidence that the visit would strengthen the two countries' efforts to improve the future of children.

— with Busseina bint Ali Al-Jaber Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family. The Minister praised the dynamic development of relations between the two countries in the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

— with Lolwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education. The two sides discussed issues of children's well-being and the key role of education in their development, confirming their willingness to exchange experiences.

— with Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, President of the Qatar Foundation. During the meeting, it was noted that Qatar highly values its fraternal relations with Turkmenistan and emphasized the importance of international humanitarian cooperation.

During all bilateral meetings, Oguljahan Atabayeva extended official invitations to participate in the International Conference "The Role of Women in Modern Society: Developing International Cooperation to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals," which will take place on December 10 at the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The Foundation's Global Humanitarian Outreach

During the visit, detailed information about the Foundation's activities was presented. In the four years since its inception (March 29, 2021), the Foundation, established on the initiative of the National Leader, has provided aid and support to children affected by natural disasters in Turkey, Russia, Afghanistan, Palestine, Tajikistan, and other countries.

The Foundation's activities, based on the principles of humanity, compassion, and justice, demonstrate Turkmenistan's commitment to its international obligations as a neutral state and promote the rich humanist traditions of the Turkmen people worldwide.

The Turkmen delegation's visit to the State of Qatar, which also included a visit to the Museum of Islamic Art and the Sidra Medical Center, marked an important milestone in bilateral relations, opening new, strategic horizons for the development of humanitarian cooperation.
