China’s Midea Group has unveiled a unique robot for industrial automation — Miro U. The robot is equipped with six manipulators and moves on a wheeled platform, allowing it to overcome limitations inherent to human physiology. Developers describe Miro U as a “super-human-like” robot designed for enhanced manipulation efficiency.

The key advantage of Miro U is its multitasking capability and ability to perform parallel operations. Thanks to additional pairs of limbs, it can carry out several tasks simultaneously while holding loads with its lower pair of arms. The six-arm structure also significantly speeds up tool-changing procedures.

The wheeled base allows the robot to rotate freely by 360 degrees, making it indispensable for work in confined industrial environments.

According to Midea’s calculations, Miro U should deliver a 30% increase in efficiency for certain manufacturing operations compared to traditional methods.

Pilot operation of Miro U will begin later this month at a Midea Group facility in China where washing machines are assembled. In parallel, the company is also developing the Meila line of service robots, which have a more human-like structure for use in warehouses and retail locations.
