The international dialogue between Japan and the Central Asian countries is taking shape. According to Kyodo News, the Japan-Central Asia Summit, attended by heads of state, will be held in Tokyo on December 20.

This information was announced on December 2 at the general meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Japan-Central Asia Friendship League, chaired by LDP Vice President Taro Aso.

Aso mentioned that Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is actively coordinating preparations for the summit with the five Central Asian countries. He emphasized that "international attention to Central Asia is constantly growing, and the success of the summit is extremely important from a diplomatic perspective."

Prime Minister Takaichi is also scheduled to hold separate meetings with each of the leaders. At the meeting, the policy of "warmly welcoming the heads of state and supporting the deepening of relations" with the region was reaffirmed.

This high level of attention is explained by the strategic importance of Central Asia, which has an advantageous strategic position and a rich resource base.
