Almaty Held a Meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asian Countries
The 15th annual meeting of deputy foreign ministers of Central Asian countries was held in Almaty on November 28. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan with the support of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA). Representatives of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan and the UN Department of Political Affairs also participated in the meeting.
The Turkmen delegation was represented by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan, Batyr Rejepov. Addressing his colleagues, he emphasized that Turkmenistan's actions aimed at strengthening security, sustainable development, and regional cooperation are based on the principles of permanent neutrality, recognized and enshrined in UN General Assembly resolutions.
The diplomats discussed current issues on the regional and international agendas, including regional cooperation (trade and economics), transport and logistics routes, water, energy, and climate issues.
An exchange of views on events and trends affecting peace and security in Central Asia was also held. The crucial role of such meetings in promptly responding to emerging risks and adapting joint measures to new challenges was emphasized.
