The Turkmenistan national football team has risen by 5 positions in the updated FIFA ranking. Turkmenistan now holds 137th place in the world ranking of national teams. The Turkmenistan national football team has risen by 5 positions in the updated FIFA ranking. Turkmenistan now holds 137th place in the world ranking of national teams. The Philippines are positioned above Turkmenistan, while Botswana is just below.

Earlier, it was reported that on November 18 Turkmenistan defeated Chinese Taipei as part of the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. The match, held in the city of Arkadag, ended with a 3–1 victory for the Turkmen team. This win earned Turkmenistan 9.43 rating points, helping improve its position in the FIFA ranking.

Thailand, Turkmenistan’s main opponent in Group D of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, is ranked 95th.

Spain currently holds the top spot in the ranking. Argentina and France complete the top three.
