According to estimates by the betting agency Polymarket, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the main favorite for the title of “Person of the Year” by the American magazine Time. This title is awarded to a person or phenomenon that has had the greatest impact on the global community during the year, highlighting the rapidly growing influence of AI. The technology’s chances are evaluated at 37%.

The high probability assigned to AI illustrates its increasing influence across all spheres of life. In addition to AI, several prominent figures from the worlds of technology, religion, and politics stand out among the main contenders:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI): 37% (technological phenomenon, the leading favorite).

• Jensen Huang: 16% (CEO and founder of Nvidia, a leading chip supplier).

• Pope Leo XIV: 15% (religious leader).

• Sam Altman: 8% (CEO of OpenAI).

• Donald Trump: 6% (last year’s “Person of the Year”).

Time magazine has been announcing its “Person of the Year” since 1927. Although most often the winner is an individual, the publication has repeatedly honored abstract phenomena or groups of people (for example, “You” in 2006 and “Ebola Fighters” in 2014) if their impact was decisive.

The rise in AI’s popularity is further confirmed by the fact that many citizens increasingly rely on it for leisure and everyday tasks, underscoring its role as one of the most significant forces in modern society.
