A Diplomatic Reception Dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Neutrality Was Held in Minsk

A gala diplomatic reception was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus to mark two anniversaries: the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality.
The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, highlighting the nature of bilateral relations. Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladislav Tatarinovich was the guest of honor, lending the event a high official status. Among the guests were heads of diplomatic missions, agencies of international organizations, as well as representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, business circles, and academia.

The ceremony, which opened with the performance of the national anthems of both countries, continued with a speech by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Nazarguly Shagulyev.
In his speech, the Ambassador emphasized the historical significance of the dual holiday: "Independence and permanent neutrality have become a solid foundation and define our path – a path of peace, constructive international cooperation, and prosperity. We are proud that in 2026, Turkmenistan will once again assume the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which confirms the international community's trust in our peace-loving policy." Ambassador Shagulyev also emphasized that the strategic partnership with Belarus, based on mutual respect and trust, is consistently developing in all areas – from active political dialogue to deepening economic and humanitarian cooperation.
Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Vladislav Tatarinovich confirmed that Belarus highly values its friendly relations with neutral Turkmenistan.
He noted readiness of Minsk to further actively develop mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in the educational and cultural spheres. Tatarinovich expressed confidence that Turkmenistan's upcoming chairmanship of the CIS will open new opportunities for deepening integration processes within the Commonwealth.

The evening culminated in a specially prepared video screening by the Embassy, which vividly demonstrated economic and social successes of Turkmenistan, as well as its active peacekeeping role on the international stage.

The reception concluded with a buffet, allowing guests to continue their business networking and discuss prospects for the further development of Belarusian-Turkmen relations. The event served as an important diplomatic gesture in strengthening friendly ties, reaffirming their mutual interest in expanding multifaceted cooperation.
