Turkmenistan and Belarus agreed to improve the effectiveness of transport interaction

The delegation of the transport complex of Turkmenistan, at the invitation of colleagues from Belarus, visited Minsk and held negotiations on the issues of building up a bilateral partnership. The main topics of the meeting of Turkmen railwaymen and motorists in the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications were an increase in the volume and efficiency of international freight traffic between Turkmenistan and Belarus. The parties also held consultations on the development of an agreement between the governments of the two countries on international combined transport of goods. The Republic of Belarus is an important partner of Turkmenistan in the trade-economic and scientific-educational sphere. Ashgabat buys automobile and agricultural machinery in Belarus and also trains qualified personnel in Belarusian educational institutions. According to experts, the growing bilateral partnership in the transport and transit sector has significant potential and is becoming an important branch of the Turkmen-Belarusian cooperation.Svetlana DAVIDOVICH
