Turkmenistan is actively strengthening its border and information management systems as part of its commitment to international efforts to combat transnational organized crime and terrorism.

Recently, representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan participated in international meetings dedicated to the implementation of advanced passenger monitoring systems. These included the fifth meeting of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) Informal Working Group on Passenger Data and the ninth seminar, jointly organized by the OSCE Secretariat's Transnational Threats Department (TNTD) and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT).

During meetings held in Vienna from November 5 to 7, officials exchanged experiences on the practical implementation of Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) systems. These systems, developed in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions, are essential tools for identifying potential threats and monitoring the movement of foreign terrorist fighters.

The Turkmen delegation provided an update on the ongoing work to strengthen the Migration Service's information systems. Paths for further cooperation with international experts, including capacity building and technical assistance, were also discussed.

Participation in these events confirms that Turkmenistan fully respects human rights and international standards, while strengthening its role in ensuring global and regional security.
