Turkmenistan Sent Aid to Earthquake-Ravaged Afghanistan

Turkmenistan sent a large shipment of humanitarian aid to the fraternal people of Afghanistan, devastated by the recent catastrophic earthquake.
The decision to provide support was made at the direction of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The initiative to provide assistance was announced at a regular meeting of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. The Foundation's Executive Director, Oguljahan Atabayeva, noted that news of the natural disaster was received with deep sorrow in the country and appealed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people for permission to provide assistance, primarily to children. Having approved this noble initiative, the National Leader instructed the relevant officials to promptly organize it.
The humanitarian aid included medicines, medical supplies, textiles, and food products.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives of Turkmenistan's public organizations, the Chargé d'Affaires of Afghanistan, as well as honorary elders and ministry representatives, attended the ceremony to launch the humanitarian convoy.
Providing such aid during the post-destruction recovery period is clear evidence of Turkmenistan's commitment to the high principles of humanism and its desire to strengthen global peace and stability in the region.
