Starting January 1, 2026, U.S. citizens visiting Uzbekistan will be able to enter the country without a visa for up to 30 days. This is stipulated in a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 3.

The decree states that the new measure aims to further develop trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations between the two countries, as well as to promote tourism.

Since 2021, Uzbekistan has allowed visa-free entry for U.S. citizens (along with citizens of several other countries) aged 55 and older who visit for tourism purposes for up to 30 days.

Plans to introduce a full visa-free regime for U.S. citizens were also mentioned in the presidential decree from May 15 of this year, which focused on a significant increase in tourist inflow to the country. That document also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin negotiations with the United States on easing visa requirements for Uzbek citizens traveling to the U.S.
