According to a statement from Roscosmos, Oleg Kononenko, who previously served as deputy head of the CTC, will assume his duties as head of the center on November 10, 2025.

Oleg Kononenko is one of Turkmenistan's most famous natives, whose achievements have become a source of national pride. He was born on June 21, 1964, in the city of Chardzhou (now Turkmenabat, Lebap Province). World Record for Total Time in Space - Over the course of five orbital missions (from 2008 to 2024), Oleg Kononenko logged 1,110 days, 14 hours, 58 minutes, and 37 seconds of flight time, an unrivaled world achievement.
Record for the Longest Flight to the ISS - During his fifth flight (September 2023 - September 2024), he and his Russian colleague Nikolai Chub set a new record, spending 373 days in orbit.
During his missions, Oleg Kononenko performed seven spacewalks, totaling 44 hours and 30 minutes.
