Kyrgyzstan is interested in import of Turkmen liquefied gas and nitrogen fertilizers, representatives of the country said at a meeting of the Turkmen-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission (IGC), held in Ashgabat on July 30. Now several new facilities of Turkmenistan, which will provide jobs to thousands of Turkmen citizens, have created new buyers. In particular, gasoline produced from gas at the plant under construction in the village of Ovadendepe in the Ahal region can be exported to Kyrgyzstan, as the liquefied gas, which was mentioned at the IGC meeting, is needed for Kyrgyzstan to be supplied to automobile refuellings. - Today, the world is transforming the consumption of fuel. The cars are switched to fuel produced from gas, and we are interested in supplying liquefied gas from Turkmenistan to our refueling stations," said Oleg Pankratov, Kyrgyz Minister of Economy, Chairman of the IGC from the Kyrgyz side..Eziz OVEZOV
Nitrogen fertilizers can be supplied by a carbamide plant under construction in the Garabogas seaside, designed to produce over one million tons of products per year.
"Kyrgyzstan's estimated demand for mineral fertilizers is 390,000 tons," said Zhanybek Kerimaliyev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic. - At the moment Kyrgyzstan purchases these products in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia, but also is interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The main issue of successful launch of new supplies of Turkmen products to Kyrgyzstan is logistics. The guests noted that, given the more profitable transportation of goods from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan is ready to significantly increase imports in other areas. At the moment, the country's representatives will focus on negotiations with the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan to find ways to increase trade.
