On October 16, the fourth meeting of the Turkmenistan-UN Strategic Advisory Council was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting, attended by Deputy Prime Ministers, heads of national departments, and heads of UN agencies in the country, laid the foundation for a new stage of long-term partnership.

A key item on the agenda was the review of the Turkmenistan-UN Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030. This document will outline areas of joint action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implement the country's national priorities.

In his speech, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov emphasized the long-term nature of cooperation with the Organization, noting the significant contribution of UN agencies to Turkmenistan's progress.

The Council also discussed joint actions to implement the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The country's priorities cover a wide range of global issues: peace and security; sustainable transport and digital integration; ecology and water resources management; youth and humanitarian cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of the outcome documents of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC-3).

Following the meeting, representatives of UN agencies in Turkmenistan confirmed their readiness to closely cooperate with national partners. They noted the need for the practical implementation of the international and regional initiatives announced at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as assistance in the effective implementation of LLDC-3 decisions.
