The President of Turkmenistan and Daewoo Cemented Their Strategic Partnership.
On October 15, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Jeong Won-ju, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. The meeting was timed to the groundbreaking ceremony for a new mineral fertilizer production complex in Turkmenabat, which Korea is participating in.
The head of state praised the relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, emphasizing that the interstate partnership is consistently developing based on mutual respect and trust.
During the conversation, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the strategic importance of the chemical industry as one of the country's dynamically developing sectors.
The head of state outlined the main strategy for developing this segment: producing products for the national economy and export-oriented goods using local raw materials.
It was noted that leading Korean companies, including Daewoo, have been making a significant contribution to the development of bilateral economic cooperation for many years, implementing large-scale projects in Turkmenistan's oil, gas, and chemical industries.
Jung Won-ju said that Daewoo is honored to contribute to the implementation of Turkmenistan's socio-economic programs and expressed gratitude for the favorable conditions created for the company's fruitful operations in the Turkmen market.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the leadership and employees of Daewoo great success in implementing the project to build a fertilizer complex at the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant.
