Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Met With Ilham Aliyev in Gabala
On October 7, the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Gabala.
During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed greetings from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to the President of Azerbaijan. In response, Ilham Aliyev thanked him for the greetings and asked that his own greetings be conveyed to the head of the Turkmen state.
The sides discussed meetings between the President of Azerbaijan and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, including Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow’s visit to Azerbaijan in July of this year.
The significance of the upcoming 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala was highlighted, emphasizing its role in deepening cooperation among Turkic states and strengthening relations between their peoples.
The meeting noted the high level of Azerbaijani-Turkmen interstate relations, based on the principles of brotherhood, good neighborliness, and cooperation, highlighting the deep traditions of fraternal ties between the peoples. The sides discussed the successful development of cooperation in political, economic, transport, energy, interparliamentary, humanitarian, cultural, educational, and other spheres, as well as productive collaboration between the two countries within international organizations.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the President of Azerbaijan exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation.
