In October, the Moon will come to its closest distance to the Earth — less than 360,000 kilometers.

According to Vladilen Sanakoev, an engineer at the UrFU educational astronomical observatory, this will occur on October 7, when a supermoon will take place. On that day, the satellite will appear about 30% brighter and 14% larger than during a micromoon.

By October 8, the Moon will begin to move away, and by October 23, the distance to the Earth will increase to 406,000 kilometers.

Additionally, in the middle of the month, rare astronomical events can be observed: on October 13, the Moon will pass near Jupiter, and on the morning of October 19, near Venus. As a result, residents of the Urals will be able to witness an unusually bright and striking sunrise.

Earlier, the scientist also warned that solar activity could reach a new maximum.
