On October 1, the Turkmen National Conservatory named after May Kuliyeva in Ashgabat hosted a grand concert dedicated to International Music Day (first celebrated 50 years ago on UNESCO’s initiative). The event also coincided with the International Day of Older Persons.

The concert program, prepared by teachers and students, highlighted the rich heritage of both global and national music. Traditionally, the evening began with the dutar: laureate of the “Turkmeniň Altyn asyry” prize, Lachin Hudayberdiyeva, performed the Turkmen folk melody “Balsaýat.”

🎶Performances that captivated the audience

The hall resounded with works by Rejep Rejepov, Bach, Puccini, Hydyr Allanurov, Chopin, Verdi, Sviridov and other composers. Among the standout performers were winners of the state competition “Turkmeniň Altyn asyry”: vocalists Begench Moshiyev and Bahar Durdyyeva, dutar player Lachin Hudayberdiyeva, and pianist Ashir Ashirov.
