President: a review of the success of Turkmen business will determine the vectors of investment and innovation
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan on the opening of an exhibition demonstrating the achievements of the private sector of the national economy. The exhibition, organized at the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and timed to coincide with the 13th anniversary of the Union's founding, will take place on March 17-18th and will testify to the successful implementation of a policy aimed at the development of entrepreneurship. Watching the success of domestic business will help identify the most important areas of investment and innovation in the economy. This opinion was expressed by the head of state, stressing that the private sector plays a large role in reforming the country's economic and social policy. Taking advantage of the support provided by the state, relying on the favorable legal, economic, financial and social conditions created in the country for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, our entrepreneurs make a worthy contribution to increasing the economic power of Turkmenistan, the President's message says. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that in the Program of the country's socio-economic development for 2019-2025, great importance is attached to public-private partnership, widespread introduction of effective methods of economic management in the conditions of market relations, and active involvement of entrepreneurs. “We will continue to consider the development of small, medium and large businesses as one of the priority areas, we will continue to provide appropriate state support,” the head of state said. All this will contribute to the growth of the share of the non-state sector in GDP, which is currently at 70%. Wide horizons of mutually beneficial international cooperation are opening up for Turkmen entrepreneurship, which contributes to the country's integration into the world economy, the Head of State noted. With the acquisition of the observer status in the World Trade Organization, good prerequisites for the development of production capacities and the increase in exports are created for Turkmenistan, the President said. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also noted the great role of entrepreneurs in the development of regions of the country and its capital, in the production of high-quality building materials, in the agro-industrial complex and in creating food abundance, promoting Turkmen goods in the foreign market. The head of state called on domestic business “to put into operation new production facilities for production of import-substituting goods, create additional jobs, make a great contribution to the implementation of environmental policy, programs aimed at developing the service sector, e-commerce.”
