Students of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction were offered to study the city landscapes of Ashgabat of the past based on the works of famous artists. Today, a touring exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education with the support of the Museum of Fine Arts of the country has opened at the institute. On the student site, sculpture, painting and models of new urban planning projects are showcased. The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence and the motto of this year – “Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust”. “We hold similar traveling exhibitions in many universities, delivering exhibits from the funds of our museum to educational institutions,” says Jennet Karanova, Deputy Head of the Museum of Fine Arts. “Thus, students, without interrupting the educational process, can get acquainted with the works of art. The exposition employs guides and museum staff who tell about the exhibits and their authors.” There are many historical and architectural monuments on the territory of Turkmenistan; some of them are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Having intended to show the beauty of historical sights on canvas, many artists were going to visit the sites located hundreds of kilometers away from the capital. That is why the canvases by Natalia Kalugina, Tadjigul Kurbanova, Shemshat Mamedova and others look so bright and realistic. People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Annadurdy Almamedov also tells about how the homeland of the poet Makhtumkuli has changed through painting.
