Cooling is forecasted in Turkmenistan: lower temperatures and rain expected
In the coming week, the weather in Turkmenistan will be influenced by an anticyclone centered over the European part of Russia and a low-pressure area from the south. The main impact will come from the ridge of the anticyclone stretching across Kazakhstan.
As a result of this air mass arrangement, cooler air will gradually move from the north to the south of the country throughout the week, leading to a drop in temperatures.
On Monday night, most of the country will see +13…+18°, while daytime will remain hot at +27…+32°, cooler in the north at +21…+26°.
On Tuesday, temperatures in the northern regions will continue to decrease. At night, Dashoguz velayat will see +9…+14°, while other regions will mostly have +14…+19°. During the day, the north will have +17…+22°, coastal areas +21…+26°, and elsewhere it will remain hot at +27…+32°.
On Wednesday night, temperatures in Dashoguz velayat will drop to +7…+12°, while in other regions they will remain at +14…+19°. During the day, the north will see +14…+19°. A gradual decrease in temperatures is also expected in parts of Balkan, Ahal, and Lebap velayats. The south will remain warm — +26…+31°.
On Thursday night, Dashoguz velayat, as well as the northern parts of Balkan and Lebap velayats, will get colder at +4…+9°. In other regions, night temperatures will be +9…+16°. During the day, under the influence of cold air masses from the north, cooling will spread across the entire country: Dashoguz velayat +15…+20°, and other regions mostly +19…+24°.
In the frontal zone, on Wednesday and Thursday, brief rains and wind gusts of up to 11–16 m/s are possible in some areas of Dashoguz, Balkan, and Ahal velayats.
By the end of the week, cool nights will settle across almost all of Turkmenistan. In the northern regions, night temperatures will be +5…+10°, in other areas mostly +9…+14°. Daytime will bring +18…+23°, with some southern areas reaching +22…+27°.
