Turkmen Diplomats Discussed Cooperation Prospects and Presented the Neutrality Strategy to Students in Islamabad
On September 23, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan held an important lecture at the Islamabad campus of Bahria University. Turkmen Ambassador A. Mowlamov and First Secretary of the Embassy B. Yazov visited the university to discuss cooperation prospects and present key aspects of the country’s foreign policy to the students.
The Embassy representatives met with the campus Director General Naim Sarwar and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Adam Saud. The parties discussed cooperation in education and science, academic exchange, and joint research projects.
After the meeting, the First Secretary of the Embassy delivered a lecture on “The Role of Turkmenistan’s Positive Neutrality in Strengthening Peace and Trust.” He elaborated on the importance of the country’s neutral status for peace and trust, presented the President of Turkmenistan’s Global Security Strategy, and highlighted significant energy projects such as TAPI and TAP. The significance of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the upcoming International Forum on Peace and Trust on December 12, was also emphasized.
At the end of the lecture, students showed great interest, asking questions about the development of Turkmenistan–Pakistan bilateral relations, the utilization of the region’s transit and transport potential, and the prospects for implementing energy projects.
Ambassador A. Mowlamov and his colleagues provided detailed answers, emphasizing that sustainable development is based on trust and cooperation. The strategic importance of regional energy projects and the crucial role of the younger generation of specialists in strengthening interstate relations in the future were particularly highlighted.
