Berdimuhamedov congratulated Mirziyoyev on his birthday
President Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation today with the Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The Turkmen leader congratulated his colleague on his birthday and expressed warm wishes. The Turkmen president said that under the leadership of Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has achieved impressive successes. Fruitful activity at the highest state post, significant political experience and professionalism have earned the Uzbek leader well-deserved respect and high prestige from the international community, state news agency TDH quoted Berdimuhamedov as saying. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his turn, stated that Uzbekistan sincerely values friendly and trustful relations with fraternal Turkmenistan. The mutual aspiration of the sides to develop a strategic partnership was noted. In this vein, the main directions of the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, the implementation of bilateral agreements were discussed and certain issues of the regional and global agenda were considered. The heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed their commitment to further cooperation in the international arena with a view to universal peace, security and progress.
