Turkish Airlines (THY) has been ranked first in the category of “Best Airline in Europe” for 2025 by the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards.

According to the published ranking, THY outperformed leading carriers such as France’s Air France, the UK’s British Airways, and Germany’s Lufthansa. Alongside the success of the national carrier, Turkey’s position in the aviation sector has also strengthened. According to the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), the country handles an average of 4,200 flights daily, ranking sixth in Europe by air traffic volume.

Particular attention is drawn to Istanbul Airport, which with an average of 1,624 daily flights has become the busiest airport in Europe and the fifth busiest in the world. Additionally, Antalya Airport entered the top ten on the continent, ranking ninth with 1,024 daily flights.

The SKYTRAX World Airline Awards are held annually and are considered one of the most prestigious accolades in civil aviation. Rankings are based on reviews from millions of passengers worldwide, assessing airlines on service quality, comfort, and overall customer experience.
