Biology Olympiad among School Students Held at the Medical University of Turkmenistan

On September 17, the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev hosted a biology olympiad for high school students. The event, organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and dedicated to Independence Day, was aimed at identifying and supporting talented youth in the field of natural sciences.

The main goal of the competition was to integrate national educational standards with global practices and to improve the quality of teaching. The olympiad sought to discover gifted students, expand their knowledge in biology, and assist them in choosing a future profession. It also contributed to strengthening cooperation between schools and higher educational institutions.

The olympiad consisted of two stages:

• The first stage — preliminary selection, conducted by the regional education departments of the velayats, the city of Ashgabat, and the city of Arkadag.

• The second stage — the final, held at the Medical University.

The results were calculated automatically using a special computer program.

The winners of the olympiad were:

• First place: Gyzylgul Muhammetnazarova, a 12th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 33 of Tejen district.

• Second place: Ailar Esenova, an 11th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 20 in Balkanabat city, and Guljahan Atamyradova, an 11th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 15 in Babadaikhan district.

• Third place: Annarejep Kakamyradov, a 12th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 19 in Babadaikhan district; Arzuw Seyitkuliyeva, a 12th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 40 in Yoloten district; and Dultemmyrat Nurmuradov, a 12th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 33 in Tejen district.

The winners of the competition received diplomas of I, II, and III degrees, while those who showed high results were awarded certificates of honor and commemorative gifts.
