Indian Ministry of External Affairs proposes measures to expand the tourist flow to the countries of Central Asia


The Ministry of foreign Affairs of India has proposed to provide leave travel concession (LTC) privilege for government employees, desiring to visit countries of Central Asia.
According to Indian media, the benefits will be aimed at boosting high tourism potential between India and five countries of the region – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Under proposed scheme, government employers will get leave and ticket reimbursement.
Currently, the proposal is under consideration by the Department of personnel and training, ministries of civil aviation, home affairs and tourism.
In addition, according to the foreign ministry, taking into account the historical and cultural ties, the introduction of paid vacation trips to the Central Asian countries will contribute to the establishment of closer people-to-people contacts.
