Turkmenistan increases export of petroleum coke
Turkmenistan is systematically increasing the production and export of petroleum coke. According to the State Statistics Committee, in January 2018, 44.7% more of this product was exported abroad than in the first month of the previous year. Gradually, the growth rate of supply increased, and by May it had already reached 82.4%. At the same time, the production of petroleum coke in Turkmenistan increased by 9.3%, and its unrealized balances in the market amounted to only about two thousand tons, which is a drop in the sea as compared to the exported volume of this petroleum product. Thus, large importers of the Turkmen oil coke appeared on the foreign market, interested in increasing supplies. Specialists of Goskomstat explain this by increasing the depth of oil refining at TKNPZ and increasing global oil prices, which made the supply of petroleum coke from Turkmenistan more profitable for a number of countries.
