"Hünärim bar – hormatym bar": Women of Turkmenistan Through Art and Craft
A conference titled "Hünärim bar – hormatym bar" was held at the Central Building of Public Organizations of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the country’s independence. The event was organized by the Central Council of the Union of Women of Turkmenistan and the Center for Business Women under the Union of Women of Turkmenistan.
Participants of the conference highlighted the contribution of women to the development of the private sector and emphasized that the Center for Business Women supports hardworking and talented entrepreneurs, helping them secure a respectable place in society. The center’s program is aimed at continuing the traditions of mentorship and supporting young professionals.
As part of the conference, an exhibition of handicrafts and decorative-applied arts was organized. Exhibits included carpets made of wool and silk, modern palases and kilims, souvenirs, and jewelry created by skilled female artisans. The exhibition featured national jewelry pieces, including the bracelet “Bilezik”, the brooch “Gulyaka”, and pendants “Shelpe”, “Gupba”, and “Khundji”.
The event showcased the achievements of women entrepreneurs and their contribution to the development of the private sector in Turkmenistan.
