New Ambassador of Bahrain accredited in Turkmenistan


On Monday, September 15, new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain Bassam Ahmed Ali Marzouk (with residence in Ankara) began his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan. As part of the official visit, he presented his credentials to Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Serdar Muhammetdurdyev.
During the meeting in the Mejlis, on behalf of the head of state, Dunyagozel Gulmanova congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening bilateral relations. The Ambassador was familiarized with the key areas of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy, as well as the activities of the national parliament.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in various fields: from political and diplomatic and trade and economic to cultural and humanitarian. Particular attention was paid to the development of inter-parliamentary relations.

At the meeting at the Foreign Ministry, Bassam Ahmed Ali Marzouk highly appreciated the holding of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, emphasizing its great importance.
The diplomat noted that it was an honor for him to represent Bahrain in Turkmenistan, which has established itself as a peacekeeping center in the region. He assured that he would make every effort to further develop the Turkmen-Bahraini partnership.
